Hello to all the sitar players here. I had formal sitar lessons about 20 years ago when I lived in South africa. I have lived in N.Z for the last 20 years and have been left to my own devices in terms of learning sitar. I lost motivation for a number of years, but recently met some younger musos who wanted to play some world music with different instruments. Baeacuse of this I’ve been playing more sitar and have been enjoying it very much. My dream is to go to India in Jan 2011 after visiting South Africa in Dec.2010. Any advice on where to go and who to learn from when I am there.
I also need some advice on a what transducer and preamp to use to be able to plug in my sitar when I play with other musos who arer plugged in.
I also have some clips of my world music jam band on youtube which I would like to share here. How do I add those links. Should I send the links to Rex. ( I have communicated with you in the past Rex, I was a member here a while back.
Great website for us sitar players.
